I have been to London a lot of times before and I always loved it. It has always been an exciting, loud and big city but this time it felt even bigger, louder and more exciting than before. I used to know the city-centre like the back of my hand but I could not recall much of it this time. I did not even recognise many of the places where I have already been four or five times before. At first I was quite sad because I thought my memory was incomplete but then I noticed that I have not been to London for four years. It has simply changed.
To me it felt as if I have never been to London myself, so it got more interesting. The only sight that I have visited a second time this time was the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, all the other places of interest were new to me (The Globe, the boat tour, the British Museum et cetera). I enjoyed our visit at “the Globe” a lot.
I was surprised by the play. The actors were funny, the language was understandable and it was not too bad to stand all the time. It was helpful to have background information about the history of Henry VIII, it was more fun that way.
All in all I really enjoyed the trip, although I felt a bit too much of a tourist this time (which is hard to avoid in London).
